In these times, when most companies are drastically cutting back their expenses, healthcare subscriptions remain the most important benefits that Romanian employers offer, Medlife representatives say. At the end of 2008, the company had 170,000 subscribers, double what it had in 2007. This year, the company plans to increase the number of subscribers and to reach a 40% share on the healthcare subscription package market.
"Even in times of crisis, employers still provide healthcare subscriptions, and their importance of the former may even increase, as they provide the best price-benefit ratio. Overtime, job stress, economic troubles, are factors that can affect the health of employees, and therefore employee healthcare is becoming increasingly valuable for managers, compared to previous years ", said Ciprian Ciobanu, Sales&Marketing director of Medlife.
The company gained 10,000 subscribers in Q1 2009, up 85% YOY.
Ciprian Ciobanu said: "The increase in the number of Medlife subscribers is caused by a new corporate service - "sharing health". The program offers companies the option to have several medical service providers, allowing employees to subscribe to their favorite medical service provider while paying the same price".
