Petrom will build a fuel terminal in Bucharest - Jilava for 32 million EUR by 2009 and will spend 200 million EUR on upgrading other fuel terminals. "We have a clear modernization strategy for the fuel terminals, for which we will invest more than 200 million EUR . "The construction of the Jilava terminal will cost us approximately 32 million EUR; we will provide this terminal with a series of safety systems so that it fulfills all OMV and Petrom standards as well as the requirements of the European Union", added Mayer. The Jilava terminal will be built on the location of an existing terminal of the company and will occupy approximately 74,000 sqm.
The construction is estimated to be finalized in April 2009. Until then the old terminal will stay in operation. The design and supervision of the new terminal are provided by ILF Consulting Engineers, and the construction by Alpine România. The tanks will be built by Confind.
