The Ministry of Education has sent for publication in the Official Gazette the Order on the Professional Profile and Standards of Teachers in Pre-University Education, by Career Stages and by Education Levels.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Professional Profile and Standards of Teachers will be used to guide the processes of developing curricula and quality standards for university study programs for the initial training of teachers, as well as career development policies, according to the new education laws. The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, stated: "It is our common responsibility to ensure very good teachers in every school! The professional profile and standards are a necessary benchmark for the initial and continuous training of teachers. To achieve this ideal, teachers need mentoring, quality courses, time for pedagogical practice, teaching resources, learning communities and any other forms of professional support. I hope we use this compass with much respect, perseverance and responsibility towards our teachers and students. Together for very good teachers in every school!".
The professional profile and standards reflect the competencies of teachers at different career stages, the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for teachers to ensure quality education and to support the achievement of the development potential of each child/young person.
