Teleroute, an electronic and logistic service provider to the transport industry, and BursaTransport, a Romanian-based freight forwarder, have entered a partnership, according to a Teleroute press release. Teleroute is part of Wolters Kluwer, a leading pan-European provider of solutions to the transport and logistics industries. The partnership is part of Teleroute"s strategy to expand to Eastern Europe.
BursaTransport has over 8,000 customers in Romania, which is one of the fastest growing transport markets in Europe. Moreover, the Romanian market is expected to grow at a rate of 10-15% per year. The partnership between Teleroute and BursaTransport follows the acquisition of Dacodasoft by the Transport Services Division of Wolters Kluwer.
Dacodasoft coordinates BursaTransport freight forwarding operations. "Approximately 20% of Romania"s imports and exports are done by Western European companies," said Wolters Kluwer Transport Services Division Executive Manager Raimundo Diaz.
Teleroute began operations in Eastern Europe in 2004. Results for the last 12 months indicate a 43% increase in the customer base. The company operates in 25 European countries and has approximately 150 employees. Wolters Kluwer concluded 2006 with revenues of 3.7 billion EUR.
