The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) yesterday announced that it will extend a loan of ten million Euros to BRD Groupe Société Générale, to finance sustainable energy projects implemented by Romanian businesses. The loan is supplementing a similar euro10 million credit line offered by the EBRD to BRD in 2008.
According to the press release sent to our editors, the loan will be used to finance energy efficiency investments undertaken by Romanian companies with long-term loans of up to euro2.5 million each. The initial loan extended by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has allowed BRD to finance 11 energy efficiency projects in Romania.
