Romania needs models, valuable people who are known and become landmarks in the development and manifestation in the community, said the Minister of Culture, Raluca Turcan. On the occasion of the Turcan Intangible Cultural Heritage Day, he participated in a ceremony of awarding some distinctions granted by President Klaus Iohannis, held in the H.H. Stahl Foyer at the "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum. The minister declared: "As a Romanian woman and as a minister, I consider myself privileged to be able to meet such valuable people face to face, to be shoulder to shoulder in the promotion and valorization of Romanian culture. You can count on me both in what you do you, as well as a support for presenting in front of everyone your performances as people of culture, because Romania needs models, it needs valuable people, who will be known and become milestones in our development and manifestation in the community" . She conferred the following awards during the ceremony: the National Order "Faithful Service" in the rank of Officer - Popoiu Paulina, manager of the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village; The National Order "Faithful Service" in the rank of Knight - Niţulescu Virgil-Ştefan, manager of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant; Order of "Cultural Merit" in the rank of Knight, category D "Performing Arts" - Georgescu Lucian-Mălin, screenwriter, university professor doctor, National University of Theater and Cinematography "I. L. Caragiale", Bucharest; Order of "Cultural Merit" in the rank of Knight, category E "National Cultural Heritage" - Ilie Cornel-Constantin, historian, deputy director, National History Museum of Romania; Order of "Cultural Merit" in the rank of Knight, category F "Promotion of culture" - Croitoru Carmen, cultural expert, university associate doctor, general director of the National Institute for Cultural Research and Training. The ceremony was followed by the opening of the "Restituiri - Timpul" exhibition, made by the Village Museum, in collaboration with the "Nicolae Simache" Clock Museum from Ploiesti, and a preview of the Religious Art Annual, organized by AFAPRR - the Subsidiary Association of Religious Art and Restoration of the UAP from Romania, hosted in the H. H. Stahl Hall.
The exhibition "Restitution - Time" includes objects from the heritage of the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village, preserved and restored by the institution's specialists. By means of the exposed heritage, among which there are objects of popular wear, textiles, barks, religious, instruments for measuring time, visitors will be able to rediscover a part of the world of the village of yesteryear. The exhibition will be open until January 31, 2025. The Religious Art Annual brings together works by professional plastic artists with important activity in the field of visual arts or the restoration of cultural assets.
