Way to go, Sebastian !

Everybody is railing against the austerity measures and against the Government, but surprisingly, the minister of Finance, Sebastian Vlădescu has quite a good public image, rather the opposite, he is appreciated for his professionalism.

Isn"t it paradoxical ?!

After all, the austerity measures come on the back of the minister of Finance.

And yet, the strikes, protests, riots are all targeting president Băsescu, first of all, the government second, and the Democrat-Liberal Party third.

However, the public"s attitude on the minister of Finance is ... ambivalent.

Even the TV station that never deviates from its anti-presidential agenda - Antena 3 -, put on its velvet gloves when presenting the meeting between Dan Voiculescu and Sebastian Vlădescu, during which the former, who was indicted of being a member of the political police, presented the minister of finance with an alternative anti-crisis program. The atmosphere was very civilized.

The people in the press did not completely exonerate Vlădescu, but it did agree that he was a professional, claiming that ... he is doing the right thing! (after which they would promptly slam him his decision to cut wages and pensions as inadequate).

To quote a statement of the unfortunate Andrei Gheorghe, the only thing that the mass-media seems to hold against Vlădescu is an inability to "communicate".

This could not be further from the truth. Romania has yet to see a higher performance in terms of public image management than the one achieved by Sebastian Vlădescu - a whole country is raging against his measures, but they"ll let it slide when it comes to him as a person.

Way to go, Sebastian !

PR abilities - you either have them or you don"t.

NOTE:

We continue to claim that the real economy should be the main target of the anti-crisis program, and the first thing to do should be the restructuring of the National Companies and of the Autonomous Public Companies, to make them profitable. Monopolies are generating losses - this is beyond belief!

In our opinion, the fiscal and/or cost cutting measures are only complementary to the first.

In fact it goes without saying...
