EnglishFrench construction material maker "Lafarge", which is also present on the Romanian market, saw its cement sales drop 34.8%. According to the annual financial statement, published on Friday, the company"s results on the Romanian market are caused by shrinking demand, as a result of the economic crisis.
The "Lafarge" group reported for 2009 a 54% decrease of its net profit, to EUR 736 million, as the operating profit dropped 30%, to EUR 2.47 billion.
The group"s turnover dropped 17% last year, to EUR 15.8 billion.
