The Association of Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) Producers in Romania - PRO BCA is requesting the prolongation of the effects of Emergency Ordinance of the Government (OUG) no. 28/2009 regulating specific social security measures.
"AAC producers believe that, in light of the risks created by domestic and international economic developments, the Romanian economy needs to be supported by ensuring an environment of social security of the nature to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis. It is therefore necessary to maintain, throughout 2010, the legal framework put in place by OUG no. 28/2009 regulating temporary interruptions of the employers" operations. We are confident that governmental decision-makers will support our initiative," PRO BCA Vice President Marius Dumitru Marin wrote in a press release to BURSA.
Emergency Ordinance of the Government no. 28/2009 stipulates that employers and employees are exempted from the mandatory social security contributions due for the indemnity of at least 75 per cent of the base salary associated with each respective job for a period of up to three months in the event that the employers are forced to temporarily interrupt operations.
PRO BCA comprises the Macon - Simcor Holding, Celco - Constanta, Soceram - Bucharest, Ecoblock - Constanta and Somaco Grup Prefabricate. Xella RO is currently in the process of joining the association.
