Alum - Tulcea (RASFAQ:BBGA), controlled by ALRO - Slatina (BSE:ALR) concluded the first nine months of the year with losses of 45.16 million RON (13.46 million EUR) following a decision to stop production in order to allow technology upgrades. In the first 9 months of 2006, Alum reported a net profit of 21.44 million RON. Production was halted in February 2007 to allow technology upgrades worth 49.5 million USD in a bid to improve environmental performance and reduce production costs by 30%. In the first three quarters of 2007, Alum posted 54.79 million RON (16.33 million EUR) in turnover, down 8x y/y.
