BCR (Banca Comerciala Romana) shareholders will receive dividends of 0.4642 RON/share from last year"s profit, up by 2.22% from the previous year, as decided by the Shareholder Meeting held yesterday. The bank concluded last year with a net profit of 662,268,199 RON, of which 367,926,777 RON (55.56%) will be disbursed as dividends. The remaining funds will be allocated to the development budget.
The shareholders also decided to appoint Ernst & Young as auditor for the financial years 2007 and 2008 and elected five of the seven members of the Supervisory Board (those nominated by majority shareholder Erste Bank): Andreas Treichl (CEO of Erste Bank, Chairman of the Supervisory Board), Peter Kisbenedek (CFO of Erste Bank, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board), Herbert Juranek (Organization & IT Director of Erste Bank), Bernhard Spalt (Risk Management Director of Erste Bank) and Daniel Daianu (Economy Professor).
Manfred Wimmer, formerly the Vice President of the Supervisory Board, has been appointed a Member of the Executive Board. BCR, an Erste Group Member, is the leading bank in Romania with assets worth over 14 billion EUR. The bank has 491 units across the country.
