Danone"s Activia Generates 1 Bln EUR In 2006 Turnover

French dairy group Danone reported outstanding results for their Activia yoghurt brand in 2006, when the turnover generated by these products reached 1 billion EUR, according to Danone Romania CEO Jacques Ponty. The Activia brand is present in 50 of the 120 countries where Danone operates.

Danone Romania posted a 20% year-on-year increase in turnover for 2006. The company"s portfolio includes the brands Activia, Nutriday, Actimel, Frutisima, Danonino, Danette, Casa Buna etc., plus two newly added varieties, Activia Strawberry and Activia Peach, which are spearheading the rebranding of the company"s fermentation ingredient Bifidobacterium Animalis DN 173010 from Bifidus Essensis to Bifidus ActiRegularis.
