EnglishNEC Corp., Japan"s leading manufacturer of mobile phones, has acquired Hungarian communications engineering company Linecom Kft. via NEC Europe in order to expand operations in Eastern Europe. Though the value of the deal was not officially disclosed, Nikkei English News points to some 1 billion JPY (5.95 million EUR). Linecom is based in Budapest, has 20 employees and annual sales of some 4.7 million USD. Prior to the acquisition, Linecom had provided NEC with installation, maintenance and support services for telecom equipment for 15 years.
