The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) has adopted the decisions regarding the rules for broadcasting the 2024 election campaign for the election of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies and the President of Romania. One of the debated changes was the banning of the sponsorship of debate and news shows. "Mainly, no changes were made. They remained the same. We tried to make the definitions of the types of election broadcasts that are made in the campaign a little clearer. Regarding news and debate shows, it is very clear that those cannot be sponsored I think that such clarifications have been found in previous decisions, in different types of elections", declared the president of the CNA, Monica Gubernat. In the same meeting, the CNA gave the green light to a request from the Permanent Electoral Authority regarding a campaign to broadcast in the audiovisual media some spots regarding the parliamentary and presidential elections this fall. They specify that: "In the parliamentary elections of December 1, 2024, you have the right to vote if you are a Romanian citizen and have turned 18 up to and including election day.
