Specialists: "We need consumption and higher electricity exports"

The electrical energy export, rose last year, compared to 2012, by 114.7%, reaching almost 2.5 billion KWh, according to the National Institute of Statistics (NIS).

The specialists on the market hope that our country will record rises, in terms of electricity export as well as in terms of the consumption in this sector.

"Taking into account that we have a slight super capacity of the energy produced from wind sources, we need a higher consumption and more exports", showed the cited sources.

The primary energy sources dropped by 9.2%, last year compared to 2012, while the electrical energy sources were smaller by 3.2%, shows NIS.

The main primary energy sources, in 2013, totalled 30.95 million tons equivalent oil(tep), on the decrease with more than 3 million tep compared to 2012.

The internal productiontotalled 21.34 million tep, on the decrease by 6.2%, and the import was 9.6 million tep, on the decrease by 15.3%.

The electrical energy resources were 58.9 billion KWh, on the decrease by 3.2%.

The reduction of the electric energy was mainly due, to the decrease of the production, with over 1 billion KWh (-1.7%).

The production of the steam power plants rose, last year, to about 27 billion KWh, on the decrease by about 6 billion KWh (-18.5%). The production of the hydropower plants was around 15 billion KWh, on the increase by 2.9 billion KWh (+23.9%), and that from the nuclear electrical power plants was 11.6 billion KWh, on the increase by 152.2 million KWh, (+1.3%).

The wind power plants produced almost 4.7 billion KWh, on the increase by 2 billion KWh. The specialists on the market said that the energy production driver is the consumption.

The electrical energy final consumption was 49.78 billion KWh last year, around 6% smaller compared to 2012. The public lighting recorded a drop by 12.6%, and the consumption of the population dropped by 1.3%.

The own consumption for technology purposes reached 6.68 billion KWh in networks and stations, on the decrease by 87.2 million KWh, respectively by 1.3%.
