Asitrans Asigurari has reported a 450,000 RON deficit for 2006 amid ongoing long-term investments, the acquisition of Asitrans Leasing and efforts to expand to Bulgaria and Hungary. The share capital gained 51% from 2005 to 12.1 million RON, whereas assets advanced 72% to 51 million RON. The company also reported a Y2006 market share of 1.5%.
Plans for this year include a 3 million EUR in share capital and a 50% increase in net premiums. Mandatory car insurance (RCA) accounted for 45% of last year"s subscribed premiums, whereas optional car insurance (CASCO) and cross-border car insurance generated 20% each. Medical and property insurance account for the remaining 15%.
