Fragments of another drone of Russian origin were reported in the Plauru-Ceatalchioi area at the end of last week. The Romanian military checked an area of over 80 square kilometers near the Ukrainian ports of Danube, Reni and Ismail. They checked an area located 3.5 kilometers from Plauru, where they found the elements of another drone.
Regarding the respective situation, President Klaus Iohannis declared:
"The identification today by the Romanian authorities on the territory of Romania, near the border with Ukraine, of new fragments of a drone, similar to those used by the Russian army, indicates that there has been an absolutely unacceptable violation of the sovereign airspace of Romania, an allied state NATO, with real risks to the security of Romanian citizens in the area. I strongly condemn this incident caused by the Russian attacks on the Ukrainian ports on the Danube".
The attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian ports on the Danube are considered war crimes by the representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, according to a press release issued by the respective ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday summoned the charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bucharest, to whom the State Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Iulian Fota, conveyed the protest of the Romanian side to the violation of the national airspace, as a result of the identification on the territory of our country, in the proximity of the border with Ukraine, of some drone fragments, similar to those used by the Russian forces in the aggression against Ukraine. At the same time, the Romanian official condemned the systematic, unjustified and brutal attacks by Russian forces against the Ukrainian population and civil infrastructure, including the one on the Danube, near the border with Romania, which generate security risks for Romanian citizens in the vicinity. Secretary of State Iulian also firmly requested the Russian side to cease actions against the Ukrainian population and infrastructure, including those that would in any way threaten the safety and security of Romanian citizens in the region.
In order to strengthen the defense of our country, the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, announced to Luminiţa Odobescu, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, that the US will send F16 fighter jets to carry out air police missions in Romania, according to a statement press release issued by the State Department.
The two officials discussed Romania's investigation into the remains of drones found in Romania, near the border with Ukraine, according to a press release from spokesman Matthew Miller.

Are those soldiers investigating the crash of the drone?
