How much money do the Arabs have?
A lot!
The sovereign funds of the Gulf area have trillions of dollars in assets... Tri-lli-ons! At least according to some estimates.
With assets worth somewhere 500 and 875 billion dollars, the "Abu Dhabi Investment Authority" seems to be the greatest sovereign fund in the world. Its neighbors in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, through the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency and the Kuwait Investment Authority, manage assets of 330 billion dollars, and over 200 billion dollars, respectively.
According to 2008 estimates, including the assets managed by the central banks, the sovereign welth funds in the Gulf had 1.5 trillion dollars under management, about as much as the rest of the world combined.
In 2007, Morgan Stanley estimated that the assets of the sovereign funds would reach 12 trillion dollars by 2015.
