Global eBusiness Operation Center (GeBOC), a division of the Hewlett-Packard group, runs a European project for increasing the ability of its employees in using one of the major European and/or regional languages, a project which will take place for a year. The company will invest a total of 360,000 Euros in this project.
Alexander Weigl, the general manager of the GeBOC center said: "The project is intended to increase the language skills of our employees. We want to directly help increase their adaptability and mobility rate of our employees, by updating and improving their qualifications and, last but not least, improving labor quality and productivity".
The program will target a number of 321 of the company"s employees which provide support for domestic and foreign customers. The participants will receive training in using the languages for which the center provides support - French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Dutch. The purpose of the project is increasing the competitiveness and labor productivity within three years after its completion.
Global eBusiness Operations Center provides support for the businesses of HP and its partners in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The Services Center in Bucharest has approximately 2,500 employees, all of them highly skilled foreign language speakers, who provide support to the other divisions of HP and their partners.
