Lafarge Arcom Gips, a subsidiary of French group Lafarge, has inaugrated a new production line for gypsum plasterboard. The investment amounts to approximately 17 million EUR. The total capacity of the new production line is 15 million square meters of plasterboard per year, five times more than the previous production line.
The expansion of the plant"s production capability was carried uot over the past 12 months and company officials estimate that the plant will opearate at full capacity by mid-2008. This will allow Lafarge Arcom Gips to deliver its products to Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova as well.
Lafarge Arcom Gips was established in 2001 and is the first domestic producer of gypsum cardboards. Lafarge is a leading global manufacturer of construction materials Last year, Lafarge reported a turnover of 17 billion EUR.
