Navrom - Galati will complete in August the ship upgrade program started two years ago. Expenses have so far reached 10 million EUR. "We are upgrading our ships to be compliant with EU standards. basically we are replacing all installations and engines with parts imported from Holland," the company representative said during the seventh edition of the transportation fair Expotrans 2007 organized by the Galati County Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
The shipping company concluded Q1 with an operating profit of 1.16 million RON, up 9.6 times from Q1:2006, when this indicator reached 121,378 RON. For Q1:2007, the company also reported overall revenues of 36.67 million RON and total expenses of 33.55 million RON.
Navrom specializes in inland shipping and has a share capital of 17.23 million RON divided into 6.89 million shares with a face value of 2.50 RON. The majority shareholder is Transport Trade Services (TTS) SA with 63.92%. The company concluded last year with a net profit of 1.48 million RON, up by 33% from the previous year, when the result was 1.11 million RON. The turnover advanced 3.5% to 142.14 million RON, from the 137.25 million RON posted in 2005.
