Over 800 cases of electoral fraud uncovered during the presidential elections were recorded by the Romanian police, between November 22nd 2009- March 1st, 2010, according to an official statistic of the Ministry of Administration and Internal Affairs.
The over 800 criminal case files are already on the prosecutors" desks, and they have been filed on the breach of the law 370/2004 concerning the election of the Romanian president.
Most of the frauds were committed in the special voting offices set up for people who were not in their hometowns when the elections took place, even though the authorities took the necessary preventive measures by installing electronic video surveillance equipment.
