The National Securities Commission (CNVM) yesterday approved the regulations for trading derivatives on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE), according to Chairperson Gabriela Anghelache. For starters, BVB will intermediate the trading of futures contracts on the BET index (reflecting the ten most liquid stocks on (BSE) and then on the BET-FI index (reflecting the shares issued by the financial investment firms - SIF) and shares, according to Stere Farmache, the BSE Director General.
"This is a remarkable moment in the history of BSE. We believe that the derivatives market in Bucharest will grow proportionally to the growth of the spot market but, for the moment, the most important thing is that we have the technical and operational infrastructure to start trading these instruments," Farmache said.
