Austrian-based furniture and decorations retailer Kika is planning to open their first store in Romania in Bucharest next year and expand to Timisoara and Oradea shortly thereafter, according to Deputy Director Paul Koch, who mentioned that finding the suitable land was a challenge. The opening of the three stores will be financed with a 50 million EUR loan that Kika took from Immoconsult Leasinggesellschaft, the property leasing arm of Investkredit Bank. The first store in Romania will be located in West Park and measure 18,000 sq.m. Kika also has stores in Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Czech Republic and Hungary.
